Wait on the LORD: be of good courage,
and he shall strengthen thine heart;
wait, I say, on the LORD.

Jesus was a neighbor to me! 10/28/08
Good Morning, Dear Family.

Philippians1:3-6 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, {remembrance: or, mention} Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

We thank the Lord that Kenny Dorman is doing much better now. Check this out also: "I may have already sent this news your way but am trying to give good news when I can!!! I left St Cloud hospital and headed to Buffalo Hospital to welcome a new grandson Brady William Schauer into the world. Almost 8 pounds. My dad is doing so much better and seems to be on the road to recovery now. It will continue to be hard recupe but some of the obstacles are behind him. Brady shares a birthday with Dayna!!!!" Pat,

Can we not echo the words of Apostle Paul, who while in prison wrote the above words under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit? Words which communicate to us this day of the blessing that we have received from the Good Samaritan who showed(s) us how to be a neighborly. May the Lord bless your week as you live, move and have your being in the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

KJV 1 John 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

Luke 10:33-37 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

KJV Mark 5:18-19 And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him. Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

In relation to our recent meditations, I am enclosing the words of a song which has been written by Alvar Helmes and a song which he wishes to be sung and distributed near and far. Here are the words:

Come, Christian Friend, and Help Us!

Verse 1: We have heard there is a Savior,
Who can wash away our sin,
But we don’t know where to find him,
In our land, so dark within.

Verse 2: We feel guilty for our actions,
We need help along the way,
We have burdens in our lives,
We’re in need of your presence today.

Verse 3: We need teaching from the Bible,
In truth, from Heav’n above,
Dear Christian friend, please help us,
Hear our plea, with all of your love.

Chorus: Come, Christian friend, and help us,
We need the Gospel of truth,
Come, spread your Savior’s message,
To our aged and youth.

Come, Christian friend, and teach us,
We long to be in God’s favor,
Come, guide and point the way,
Tell about Jesus, the Savior.

In Christ,

Let us pray! 10/24/2008
Good Morning, Dear Family.

Heb. 13:3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

KJV Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

This is the update which I received from Pat Schauer, Kenny's daughter, this morning and I am passing it along.

"Dad had a rough night last night and the hospital called Mom to update her. It seems that they could not awaken him and he again was having the chest pains over his heart. It seems that all is going smoothly this morning and we will be up there before noon to stay with him.
Prayers are still very much needed to get him through this. As the Dr said, Being 84 is his biggest determent to his recuperation. This type of surgery would be tough on a young man. " Pat

Let us pray: Dear Holy Father, we approach your throne of grace together this morning, thanking you for the blessing of the grace of life through your Son, Jesus Christ. We are learning and experiencing more and more of the blessing of entering deeper into the common fellowship of believers in the body of your Son, Jesus, in whom there is never any division or separation, but only a growing union of meaning and purpose in love and in truth. So that when one is ailing, in pain, in need , it is as if it is our very ownself that is in need. Our hearts are together this morning as we lift our dear brother Kenny before you, asking that first of all you would bless Him with the awareness of your Presence through the promises of your Word as applied by the Holy Spirit! Dear Father, Kenny knows that You are His shepherd and he has no need outside of what you have provided for him through your Son, Jesus. Please cause Kenny to rest in the quietness of your peace today as in green pastures and lead him beside the still waters of your grace. Waters of grace that permeate the soul so deeply that the mind is at rest in the secure knowledge of your Presence. May it be not only with Kenny, but with Doris and the rest of the family. Restore his soul from the worries and fears of the future through leading him into your ways of righteousness, which is the way of grace and acceptance in your Son. Father, you continually bestow your grace upon all, and to those who wait upon you, you give increased grace. Continue to glorify your great name by being very gracious to our dear Kenny! And, Lord, as Kenny and the rest of us go through this valley of the shadow of death, may it be that there would be perfect peace and that fear would be vanquished through the knowledge that You are with Kenny and all of his family. May your gentle rod of the grace of relationship be felt by Kenny as you reveal into his mind and heart of your promises of acceptance and direction for his wellbeing in the future. Yes, and even as he goes through the valley, may the table that has been prepared for the eternal feast of believers be an encouragement to Kenny so that his heart will be so filled with joy at that which is to come, that he will be able to say that your mercy and goodness continues to follow him and that he lives with the expectant hope that he will dwell in your house forever and forever and forever and forever.............................. In
Jesus Name, Amen.

One final note. As I was in the hospital with Kenny and his family, I could not help but think of God's abundant grace each tiime I heard the music float through the halls of the St. Cloud Hospital each time a new child was born into this world. Amidst the suffering, pain and death, there is the sound of the grace of God through the chimes, reminding us that in the darkness of the events of the cross at Calvary, the resurrection of life on Easter morning brings forth hope and life. May we keep this in mind always, for God is faithful and his mercies are new every morning!!

In Christ,
