Wait on the LORD: be of good courage,
and he shall strengthen thine heart;
wait, I say, on the LORD.

No Separation Romans 8.28.39 8.20.2017
Dear friend,

May the amazing grace, the enduring forever mercy and the divine peace be unto you today from God our Father and from His Son, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen.

If God is for us, who can be against us? David in the 27th Psalm came to this conclusion as he firmly stated that the LORD is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?

In the conclusion of our four part series from chapter 8 of Pauls letter to the Romans, the same confidence is voiced by the apostle as he brings forth five questions which are designed to point us to the reality of our eternal destiny and to bolster up our courage to persevere against all obstacles that may come against us.

The first verse of our meditation is very familiar to us and it gives us an introduction to what is to come in the following passages: "All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." For that which God began in us He has promised to bring to completion and as a result of this eventual reality, Paul brings forth his last convincing assertions to drive home the truth that God has brought us into His family for our destiny! In fact, we are already glorified!!! He has chosen us from eternity for our destiny which is to be in heaven forever. (glorified) This is what God says in His Word!!

Let us not miss it! He has predestined us for heaven!! And we are already in heaven, as we are seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6) and only time hinders us from the fullness of that bodily experience!!!!!! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow!

As I have thought on the reality of what God is telling us in this latter part of chapter 8, I have been searching for a proper way to illustrate the immensity of this truth. The best that I can do is to think of an orchestra which begins to play quietly and as the concert progresses more instruments join in and the tempo increases. Then just as they near the end, the symbols begin to clang, the trumpets sound loudly and all together they bring the selection to triumphant and resounding end!

Listen as Apostle Paul asks these questions, which he answers for us, answers which ignite faith in us as well as the doggedness to perserve to the end¿½¬¦..

31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

And nothing means nothing!!!! Praise the Lord in Christ Jesus!

May we lose ourselves in these verses of promise and assurance, so that we would remember that our identity is in Christ Jesus, that our destiny is fixed in heaven and that nothing will ever stop the love of God for us in Christ. If God be for us, who can be against us? Amen
