Wait on the LORD: be of good courage,
and he shall strengthen thine heart;
wait, I say, on the LORD.

Christ For Us, Christ With Us, Christ in Us 7/14/2013

KJV John 6:33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

KJV Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

KJV Luke 12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

KJV 1 Corinthians 10:17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.

KJV John 6:34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

Dear Father, this morning we thank you for your boundless and matchless love which continually flows from your throne of grace unto us! What a wonderful privilege it is for us to know you, the only true God, the Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. You are the Lord Jesus Christ, the bread which came down from heaven and who has given us life. But, dear Father, not only us, for your Word tells us that He has given life to the whole world!! Don't they believe it? Don't they know it? Dear Jesus, open their understanding to this fact!

Oh, dear Lord, it is wonderful to experience the power of your Holy Spirit when we have fellowship together with You and Your Son Jesus Christ. We rejoice that Christianity is not based upon the external or outward practices of our worship, but it is realized and lived out through the revelation of the love of Jesus Christ, Who is shed abroad into our hearts by the Holy Spirit.

Lord, thank you for making us to hunger and thirst after righteousness, for when you cause us to hunger and thirst after you, you will fill us even as you as you did at our annual convention of our beloved ALCA in Ironwood, Michigan. Lord, we ask that you would continually give us Christ to fill the longings of our heart for identity and significance. Help us to understand more and more of your desire to fill us with your Presence through the personal knowledge and experience of Jesus, the bread of life.

Ephesians 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Praise Song
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Putting ourselves in the recipient position of this prayer, we receive strength in our inner man, that part of us which longs for a closer and more meaningful connection with Jesus who loves us dearly;

We are not only rooted in this love, but are grounded in it so that all other loves look like the part of the corn that is cleaned off of the cob and thrown on the ground.

And not only grounded, but growing deeper in the understanding as well as the joy of fulfilment which comes from the relationship of love with Him.

It is not a one time deal of the past, but it is a reality in our lives today and this relationship of love is ever growing, seeking for new ways to understand and to live out His love in practical ways in our lives as we connect with Him and with others.

God so wants to reveal His heart of love toward us through the life and love of His Son Jesus, Who is love, Who teaches us about love and helps us to learn to love.

The wife of a noble Persian having been invited to be present at the wedding feast of King Cyrus, her husband asked her merrily upon her return whether she did not think the bridegroom-monarch a most noble man.

Her answer was, "I know not whether he be noble or not; my husband was so before my eye that I saw none beside him, I have seen no beauty but in him."? "

No," she replies, "my eyes are fully fixed on Christ, my heart is so taken up with him that I cannot tell if there be beauty anywhere else, I know that all beauty and all loveliness is summed up in him."

Also, being in Ironwood this weekend, I recall attending a wedding there a number of years ago. As the bride and bridegroom were standing at the altar, I noticed how the bride kept looking at her husband to be, wanting him to return her look of love. But for whatever reason, he did not respond, but that did not stop her from continually looking at him in love and wanting him to respond to her love.

That caused me to think of our Saviour’s look of love toward us, wanting us to respond in love, so that we could be united to Him and in Him. May we return His look of love to Him not only with our physical eyes, but with the eyes of our understanding, with the eyes of our heart………

Leaving you in His matchless love,
